About Kind Dance Gifts

Hello and a huge welcome to my shop :)

I’m Lauren, a mum living in Kent in the UK and I have 2 children who both dance in the Latin and Ballroom and Irish dance styles. (Yes, that is slightly full on and an odd combo 😄).

I'm originally from Australia and moved to the UK many years ago after working at a children's summer camp in California for several years and meeting my British husband there. Now, I currently work as a freelancer for a brilliant book publishing company based in London, which I've been doing for 10 years and LOVE!

Let's circle back to dance! As a regular dance competition attendee over the years (having done countless hours of waiting around in halls and ballrooms 😵) and with a real passion for creating things, I started making my own children some activity packs to try and keep them entertained.

They seemed to go down well and I actually enjoyed making them so much that I wanted to have a go at sharing my own letterbox dance creations with the world. <3

Whether your buying for your own child to 'keep em' busy' on a long comp day, sending a 'good luck' package to a niece or grandchild, or delivering some warm well wishes for a very first competition, they will hopefully be super excited to receive their very own pretty dance mail in the post, whatever the occasion!

These tailored gift-boxes will be for the Latin and Ballroom and Irish dance communities to start. I feel that the gifting selection is still quite limited in these dance areas, especially for the youngest of stars in the making, so I hope you'll like these creations as much as I have enjoyed putting them together. I have plans to expand this range later on.

For my signature product (the activity books), I liked so many illustration styles it took me an absolute age to be happy with them, but I finally got there in 2026 with a 'retro vintage' style cover artwork and it makes me so happy to see these come to life at last.

My kids have bluntly told me if they didn't like something about the products during the work-in-progress stage 😆 Savage! But, I would like to thank them deeply for their KIND words of wisdom, and for being my official product testers. ;)

A giant thank you also goes to my husband who has listened to my crazy dreams for years and will be helping me with packing any orders I get (he doesn't know that yet 😂). Another thanks going to my mum and sister who have always been inspo to me, especially mum who had us into the arts-and-crafts from birth!

The dance world is glamorous and wonderful, and at the same time, competitive, demanding and downright CRAZY at times! So, my aim with KDG is to sprinkle just a little kindness into the lives of our young superstars in the making.

It makes me smile just imagining their little faces light up when these pop through their front doors. ✨
